What
are Garra Rufa fish? Also known as Doctor
Fish, Nibble Fish Kangal Fish and Physio Fish, they originate from Turkey where
they live and breed in the outdoor pools of some Turkish spas - they are famous
for feeding on the skin of patients with psoriasis. The Garra Rufa themselves
are members of the carp family of fish. They are usually around 10cm in length
and sourced from Turkey and surrounding countries

What
do the Fish do? The Garra Rufa fish
gently suck the dead skin from the outer layer of the body, leaving the under
layer of skin aside. Whilst the fish remove this layer of dead skin, they
actually produce an enzyme that has a vitalizing effect on the new layer of
skin which is to replace the removed one; this means that the skin will feel
softer and smoother than before. Surprisingly they don’t actually have any
