What is Cellulite?
Cellulite occurs in
the fatty tissue immediately below the surface of your skin that rests on top
of a firm layer of collagen connective tissue. Before cellulite shows up, the
outer surface of the skin is smooth and supple (no bumps and no ridges). The
skin is smooth because the surface of the fatty tissue just below the skin is
ALSO smooth. The fatty layer just below your skin is smooth and supple as long
as the fat cells remain strong, healthy and flexible. The dimply, bumpy texture
we call cellulite begins to occur when the structure of the fat cells begin to
weaken. When the cell walls weaken, the cells begin to ‘sag’ and this ‘sagging’
is what accounts for the "orange peel" look of cellulite. The weaker
the cells become the worse the sagging and the worse the cellulite.
All kinds of theories
were spread that offer remedy for cellulite. Indeed as a problem that affects
both teens and adults, that's why more and more people engage in diets and
workout plans. Most professionals agree that besides the hereditary factors
there are some foods that cause cellulite.
In
order to have success in the cellulite busting process it is recommended to
avoid the consumption of the following food groups and beverages.
Sugary
Foods – A diet high in sugary food is
thought to promote skin disorders, and the appearance of cellulite. Foods that
are extremely rich in sugar cause irreversible damages in our systems and also
generate some deterioration to all of our living cells. That's why it is
advisable to skip them especially when we are on a strict diet. This group
includes cakes, biscuits, chocolate and pastries.
Salty
Foods - It was also scientifically
demonstrated that salty foods can enhance cellulite production through it water
retention properties. Liquid retention is one of the basic causes of cellulite.
The best way to control this process is to limit our salt intake as the body
will retain a huge amount of fluids if it is further stuffed with salty foods.
Besides producing it salt can also aggravate the appearance of this beauty
flaw. The bumps and bags will be more obvious.
Saturated
Fat - Saturated fat is the greatest fan of
cellulite. In order to eliminate the toxins from our bodies it is worth
considering that we are able only to break down vegetable and fruit fats.
Saturated fats which originate from animals are less utilised by us are more
easily stored right under our skin, making the fat bags appear earlier than we
would think. Red meat, sausages, butter, cream, cheese and chocolate are some
of the dangerous members of this food group
Junk
Foods - Junk foods are real cellulite
boosters since these combine all the harmful ingredients that should be
avoided. Having a high content of toxins, additives, saturated fat and
calories, these effectively cause chaos in our bodies. Gradually our bodies are
unable to break down the different factors and will store the harmful residues
under the skin. The more you consume the more visible the signs of cellulite
will be.
Alcohol
- Alcohol can be also enlisted into this category. This ingredient has an
unfortunate effect both on cellulite and our body in general. Due to its high
content of calories and toxins it has the ability to store these under the
skin. Also alcohol increases the damage of muscles and skin cells whilst also
inhibiting the absorption of Vitamin C, calcium and zinc– all natural fat
fighters
